Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club

The Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club is located at Wickham in the all-weather, deep water, working port of Newcastle. The Club’s precinct includes a marina, shipyard and maintenance facilities, commercial centre, licensed club and a Sailing Academy. The club conducts keelboat racing on Sundays as well as twilight racing and Laser dinghy sailing on Wednesday and Friday afternoons during the warmer months. They also host a number of offshore distance races as part of their Blue Water PointScore as well as the pre-season NSW Country Yachting Championships. No previous experience is required to join their Sailing Academy. They provide a pathway from six years to 70 years with entry to Learn to Sail available for all ages! They are also proud to deliver the Youth Development Program which targets young sailors looking to work closely with a team under the guidance of one of their coaches to represent their club at events near and far. Awarded the Australian Sailing 2019 Club of the Year, they continue their ongoing objective of developing and promoting the sport of sailing in Newcastle, the club is focused on maintaining its welcoming approach and hospitable charm to both old salts and those new to sailing....
