Wooleen Station is a working cattle station in the outback of Western Australia dedicated to landscape regeneration and conservation. Your hosts, the Pollock family, will make your stay comfortable, educational and enjoyable in the National Trust-listed homestead or the self-contained rammed earth guesthouses. The homestead includes thoughtfully appointed bedrooms, newly renovated bathrooms, home-style cooking, a cellar of Western Australian wines, a billiard room and an oasis of a garden. The rammed earth guesthouses have two bedrooms, full kitchen facilities and a barbecue area for self-catering. Wooleen offers eco-tours with David out into the rangelands and the tours include flora and fauna, early pioneering history, aboriginal culture, sustainable land management use, ecology and the peace and quiet of the ancient landscape. Enjoy a sunset tour to the oldest lands in the world, self-drive trails, walking trails, mountain bike trails or even bush-walking to experience this wonderful station. The property includes a National Trust-listed wool shed, a blacksmith shop and a homestead as well as the 'Bower Bird Museum'. Wooleen is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy your holiday. You’ll live under the same roof of owners and hosts, David and Frances, as they share their National Trust-listed home with guests and offer a glimpse into working station life. Expect a visit filled with personal touches and the attention to detail that is synonymous with relaxed luxury. With seven spacious Edwardian-style bedrooms and three luxurious bathrooms, a maximum of ten guests are taken at any one time to ensure a personalised and intimate experience. This historical home was built in 1918 and includes a multitude of living spaces, reading nooks and dining areas. You can also relax outdoors, with colonial verandas wrapping around the home and lush gardens.
