The Gunnedah Rural Museum is one of Australia's largest collections of early agriculture, industrial history, and transport memorabilia. The museum covers an area of more than 14,000 square metres and has in excess of 18,000 items on display. Allow plenty of time for your visit to wander through the exhibits and collections. A small entry fee is payable at the door and museum volunteers are available to direct you through the exhibits and answer any questions you may have. The museum houses tractors, steam engines, antique farm machinery, horse-drawn and motorised vehicles, household items, antique firearms, blacksmithing tools, toys, McDonagh model railway, and a shearing display, There are some stunning displays of Coca-Cola can and bottle and Arnotts' biscuit tin collections! Browse the crafts and gift shop for some local keepsakes! Coach groups are welcome and the museum is able to cater a light lunch, morning or afternoon tea for small groups and coaches. A well-stocked souvenir gift shop is located on-site. The museum has ample parking space out front available for cars with caravans, motor homes, and visiting coach groups. The museum is located just off the Oxley Highway....
