The Carousel

The Carousel is an Armitage-Herschell portable steam driven, hand-carved wooden carousel which was constructed circa 1892 and is one of only 200 in operation around the world. Featuring 36 Dare horses and two chariots, it was purchased by the Steampacket Place Development Board in 1996 and painstakingly restored. There is also a replica 1898 Gavioli Band organ in the pavilion. The Carousel has become an ideal accessible meeting place for the community, and The Carousel takes pride in providing a memorable experience for all ages and abilities. This has been made possible with improved access to the pavilion and recharge point. As well as being a tourist attraction and meeting place, The Carousel also offers a wide range of services including children's birthday parties, wedding ceremonies, receptions, photo shoots and corporate functions and launches....

Entry Cost

Entry to The Carousel Pavilion is free. Visitors wishing to take a magical Carousel ride, prices are as follows: Child $5.00 Adult/Concession $5.00 Children 5yrs and younger require an adult to stand with them on the ride for safety. The adult is free to accompany the child.
