Queenscliff Beach is at the northern headland of Sydney’s famous Manly Beach and is famous amongst the Australian surf beaches for its "heavy" waves (bomboras) that break out at sea. In a mighty swell, this is where you’re likely to find some of Manly’s pro surfers being towed by jet-skis onto towering waves. There is a 50 metre rock pool at the northern end of Queenscliff Beach, tucked up against the cliffs on the headland and a walk around the cliff edges, through the "worm tunnel" and on to the next beach, Freshwater Beach. This walk can only be completed at low tide. There are several bars and eateries nearby....
