Eventfinder, just got bigger!
Friday 31 August, 2012
Since launching in January, Eventfinder has listed more than 30,000 local and national events across music, entertainment, arts and culture, and it is now reaching over 350,000 event-goers online every month. It’s the fastest growing music and entertainment guide in Australia and is set to receive a huge boost by tapping into Yahoo!7’s entertainment, lifestyle and travel audience of over 2 million people.
Eventfinder is already the biggest events and ticketing website in New Zealand and was launched recently in the USA. Eventfinder is managed under licence in Australia by music and entertainment publisher Peer Group Media.
Adam Zammit, CEO of Peer Group Media said, “We’ve seen demonstrable growth in live entertainment in recent years, yet there wasn’t a reliable digital destination where Australians in all metro and regional areas could find out what events are on locally – everything from pub gigs, exhibitions and theatre, to big shows and cultural festivals. Eventfinder solves this problem, while giving event promoters and venues a national platform to market and ticket their events.
“Eventfinder helps event organisers reach targeted audiences looking for specific types of entertainment, and if they use the ticketing platform, promoters and venues will make better margins,” he said. “This is a real boost to the Australian event industry.”
Eventfinder’s ticketing platform has already processed over 300,000 tickets in Australia and New Zealand, including this year’s Big Day Out festival.
Listing an event is free and takes only minutes to upload, while premium listings and advertising on the Eventfinder/Yahoo!7 portal start from $50, allowing organisers to promote events via location, category or audience demographic.
Complementing Eventfinder’s website is over 25,000 tourism products and experiences from the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW). ATDW’s rich, high quality tourism content will be used to provide consumers with thousands of options including accommodation, attractions and tours to fulfill their complete holiday experience.
“We are really pleased to have Eventfinder as a licensed ATDW distributor; they play an important role in the events community and have a significant consumer reach which stimulates interest in the wider tourism community in metropolitan and regional destinations,” said Liz Ward, ATDW’s CEO.
Eventfinder has just been nominated for Best Product at the 2012 Australian Event Awards.
